Creating highly polished and optimized props and dynamic environments for game projects is one of my specialties. I am comfortable creating highly detailed art works using some of the latest industry leading tools on the market.
Along with environment art, digital sculpting is also one of my strengths. Using ZBrush for true versatility and creative exploration, digital sculpting provides a way to bring out the details and personality of any asset whether it be for environments or characters.
I have always been fascinated with 3D animation and in 2010 I decided to start a degree in this very subject. I have a broad knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of animation both in 3D and traditional forms.
Character art is an area which I believe I have great experience and knowledge of. In the future I would love to explore this area further and broaden my portfolio with more character projects.
I have quite an extensive knowledge of 2D and traditional art forms. I’ve studied an art diploma which covered a wide variety of mediums in art and design. I’ve also done a number of personal projects related to concept art, but unfortunately due to my love of 3D game art I’ve not invested as much time into as I would like to. In the future I hope to add more to my portfolio.
I have done a lot of compositing/video and photo editing both for my university course and also for my own personal projects. Compositing was a vital part to my animation degree, I had to learn a great deal in regards to using Nuke for colour grading, match-move, rotoscoping etc. I was grateful for this as it furthered my understanding of photo and video manipulation.
Hi my name is Sam Prescott and I’m a 3D artist that is highly specialized in environment building and optimisation for games. I currently have 5 years experience working in the video games industry, working on Indie pc games as well as AAA titles for a multitude of platforms. I have a great deal of experience creating well polished props and environments for games, as well as having experience with 2D Illustration and 3D animation.
I graduated with a BA Hons in Computer Animation Arts from Bournemouth University. I work to the highest standard and have an eye for detail with skills in design and organisation. I work well under pressure, manage my time well and work to deadlines whilst maintaining excellent standards.
As an Environment Artist at Supermassive Games I am currently working on projects relating to The Dark Pictures Anthology series. Theses are a collection of unique narrative driven choice based horror games currently in development.
As an Environment Artist at Firesprite I spent the majority of my time working on The Persistence a PS4 VR sci-fi horror shooter as well as other high profile projects. I am creating high quality assets and importing them into UE4.
As an Environment Artist at Bulkhead Interactive I helped develop their first person multiplayer shooter Battalion 1944. I created a variety of props as well as large buildings. I imported the assets into UE4 and set them up within their multiplayer maps.
The majority of my time I worked on Rising Storm 2 Vietnam, a first person shooter built within the UDK engine. I created a great variety of environment props as well as helping with set dressing.
